Cumby alone in second place in district

April 16, 2004 -- YANTIS -- Cumby scored in each inning Tuesday to record a 16-1 win over Yantis to sit alone in second place in the district.

Cumby's Huddleston sisters did a lot of the damage against the Lady Owls. Senior Katy Huddleston went 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and five RBIs, while younger sister Kasidy went 2-for-2 with a triple, two walks and three runs batted in.

Kasidy also pitched a four-inning complete game, giving up one hit, one walk and one earned run while striking out five.

Cumby had 11 hits, including two from Stefany Baxter who also drove in three runs. The Lady Trojans are scheduled to play Campbell today at 4:30 p.m.

Yantis' Sarah Collins pitched the first two innings and took the loss.
