C-P can't take advantage of match-up with Grand Saline

April 3, 2004 -- COMO -- Como-Pickton blew its chance at taking over first place in District 14-2A, as seven errors proved costly, and was something the Lady Eagles were unable to overcome Friday in a 7-2 loss to Grand Saline, ranked No. 8 in the state.

Christy Hunt (8-4) took the complete-game loss, giving up eight hits while striking out six. Taylor Moss and Elizabeth Melton were the lone CPHS players to get hits. Moss was 3-for-4 with a double, RBI, run and stolen base, while Melton added an RBI triple and a run.

The Lady Eagles (10-4, 6-2) look to bounce back Tuesday against Lone Oak. Game time is 6 p.m.
