Fans of the romance novel have a new title to add to their lists.
“The Sweethearts’ Knitting Club” has everything a good paperback story needs: a proper damsel in distress, with “feisty shoulders;” a dead mother; an alcoholic father and a wild-child little sister; a bad, sex-on-a-stick boy framed for something he didn’t do; and a good, rich boy who has stood by the damsel for 10 years, but can’t get her to say “yes” to his many marriage proposals.
What are “fesity shoulders,” anyway?
It’s a great fantasy that ends with everyone getting what they deserve, but I’d rather read stories that might actually happen in real life.
