Sept. 23, 2008 - Friends of Macie Murray and her young son Bryson Melton, also son of Mikey Melton of Sulphur Springs, will be hosting a stew fundraiser Friday to help offset some of the expenses associated with Bryson's medical care.
Bryson is currently recovering for a second heart surgery at Medical City in Dallas.
"They sewed him up from his second heart surgery, the swelling is down, he's breathing a little on his own. The doctors told his family he's a miracle baby. Things right now are going real well," said family friend Rodney Caudle, who along with Charlie Vaughn are coordinating the fundraiser for Bryson and Macie.
Bryson has been diagnosed with partial anomolous pulmonary venus return, tetralogy of Fallot, craniosynostosis and several different spinal conditions.
Due to numerous hospital visits and costly medical treatments for his heart, breathing and other difficulties, the family's friends are hosting the fundraisers.
The stew benefit for Macie and Bryson begins at at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Janeen's Country Cottage, 630 1/2 N. Davis St. Proceeds will help with medical care for Murray's 5-month old son Bryson Melton. The stew pots will be set up in the back parking lot at Janeen's.
A $7 donation is being asked for the meal which includes either hamburger or chicken stew, cheese, crackers and a drink. Stew will be served until it runs out Friday.
Delivery is available to businesses in Sulphur Springs as long as the order includes five or more bowls at a time.
Orders may be placed through the start of the benefit Friday. To schedule a delivery contact Rodney Caudle at 903-438-6963; please leave a name and contact number and organizers will call you back for more details. Also, call the above number for more information about the benefit.
