'Jr. Gregg Day' scheduled for Nov. 8

Oct. 22, 2008 - Friends of Jr. Gregg have designated Nov. 8 as a day of appreciation for him, as well as an opportunity to raise funds to help him with expenses associated with his medical care.
Jr. Gregg Day will be held Nov. 8 at the 2J Ranch in Como. The appreciation benefit begins at noon with serving of chicken and beef stew.
Auctions for a handmade ranch-style king-sized quilt, a paint filly with application for registration with APHA, hay and Western-styled lamps, wall hangings, ornaments and other items will be conducted.
A Billy Cook saddle valued at $1,800 is being raffled, as is a registered gray filly; chances for both items are offered for donations of $10 each or three for $25. A handmade western quilt will also be raffled; the cost to enter the drawing is $2, or three chances for $5.
Also, Jr. Gregg and Trail Riders, which will start at the South Seven 1/2, will also break at the 2J Ranch for the benefit. Trail riders will continue after the lunch and benefit. Trail ride is Nov. 8 and 9 at South Seven 1/2.
Those attending the benefit are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs or blankets. To find the festivities, go 1.2 miles east on State Highway 11 east past the blinking light in Como. Turn right on County Road 2331 and continue traveling south 0.8 of a mile. The 2J Ranch will be on the left. Watch for ribbons. Trail rides will begin on County Road 2426.
