TAKS exit level re-tests offered next week for both current and former SSHS?students

From Staff Reports

Oct. 16, 2008 - Sulphur Springs High School 12th graders and students not currently enrolled who have yet to pass the TAKS Exit Level test will get another chance next week.

The Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills Exit Level retests will be administered at 8:30 a.m. daily Tuesday, Oct. 21, through Friday, Oct. 24.

The English language arts retest will be Tuesday, mathematics Wednesday, science Thursday and social studies Friday. All testing will be conducted in SSHS Conference Center.

The exit test is required of all Texas students who want to receive a high school diploma.

Next week's tests are offered for those who have completed all other graduation requirements except the TAKS exit test and who are not currently enrolled in high school, but also for SSHS seniors who have not passed all sections of the test.

Out-of-school examinees may pre-register by calling SSHS academic specialist Glenda Wright at 903-885-2158, ext. 263, during school hours. While preregistration is not required, it is recommended.

Current students are already pre-registered to take the tests on these days.

Study guides are also available for all tests by contacting Wright. All examinees are encouraged to review the material before the testing day.
