Locust St. man says armed intruders robbed him

From Staff Reports

Oct. 9, 2008 - A South Locust Street resident reported being robbed inside his house by four armed intruders Wednesday night.

The resident told police that around 10:25 p.m. four black males in dark-colored clothes with stocking-type masks over their heads entered his residence, where he and a male friend were watching TV.

The intruders each had a handgun, and at least one threatened both men's lives if they didn't put burlap sacks over their heads and lay down on the floor, officers were told.

The suspects then allegedly rifled through cabinets and drawers in the residence, throwing things about. They took the resident's wallet, which held a credit card and personal information, fleeing on foot from the property.

The resident contacted neighbors, who told police they neither saw nor heard anything. The resident's friend had left the residence and hadn't returned when officers left, and the resident was unable to provide much information about the friend.
