Library’s Gala Luncheon reset for March 27

Miller Grove native Patsy Hallman, author Bill O’Neal to be featured guests

From Staff Reports

March 13, 2008 - Maybe the infamously fickle Texas weather will cooperate with the Friends of the Sulphur Springs Public Library this time around.

We originally scheduled our annual Gala Luncheon for Friday, March 7, said Library Director Cheryl Lawson. Mother Nature had other ideas. Who knew wed wake up to a snow storm that morning?

The benefit luncheon has been rescheduled to Thursday, March 27, from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Were pleased to announce that Patsy Hallman and Bill ONeal have cleared their calendars to be with us, as previously planned, Lawson said. Its going to be a great program and we invite everyone to attend.

Hallman, a native of the Miller Grove community and the former dean of education at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, is the author of numerous books. O’Neal is a Texas historian, lecturer and True West Magazine’s award winner for Best Living Non-Fiction Writer, 2007.

Tickets to the catered affair are $20. Tickets which were purchased for the original gala affair and dated March 7 will be honored at the door.
