TAKS exit level retests set July 14-18 at SSHS

From Staff Reports

July 6, 2008- Exit level retests for eligible students begin Monday, July 14, at Sulphur Springs High School.

The first Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills retests administered will be the social studies exit level exams. This test will be given on Monday, July 14, not July 18 as is scheduled on the state testing calendar. The school district applied for the change, which was approved by Texas Education agency in May. Parents and students were notified of the change before classes dismissed for the summer, according to Betty Laws, Sulphur Springs Independent School District testing coordinator.

Then, on Tuesday, July 15, the English language arts exit level rest will be administered. The mathematics exit level retest will be Wednesday, July 16, and the science exit retest on Thursday, July 17.

All tests will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the high school. Make-up testing is not available for the July testing cycle.

Students or parents may address questions regarding eligibility or test administration to Glenda Wright, SSHS academic specialist, at 903-885-2158, ext. 263.
