Child advocacy center, TAMUC offering free counseling services
From Staff Reports
Jan 8, 2008 - Free counseling services are being offered to the public at Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center offices in Winnsoboro through a coordinated effort with Texas A&M University-Commerce.
Three master’s-level intern students will be housed at the center. As part of their program, they are required to have direct contact hours with clients, which will be supervised by a professor at A&M-Commerce and in Winnsboro by a licensed professional counselor.
Each intern’s field of study focuses on working with children, adults or older teens on issues of depression, anger, anxiety, grief, post-traumatic stress disorder, or chemical dependency.
Anyone in need of professional assistance can receive the counseling at no charge by calling the advocacy center at 903-629-7588.
