Obama campaign sets organizational meeting tonight at Pizza Inn

From Staff Reports

Feb. 28, 2008 - The Obama Train is rolling through Sulphur Springs tonight and Friday, or at least making a quick pit stop.

A worker with the national campaign of Barack Obama's presidential bid is scheduled to be in town Friday to help with a phone bank from a local residence, while supporters are gathering for an organizational meeting tonight at Pizza Inn.

Anyone who is interested in volunteering with the Obama campaign is invited to tonight's meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. at Pizza Inn on Mockingbird Lane.

Supporters will also be recruiting volunteers to work the Friday night phone bank. The volunteers will be calling numbers from a database to remind potential voters about the importance of turning out for the March party primaries, and probably throwing in a little pitch for the Illinois senator.
