Workers needed for next week's primary elections
Volunteers need to contact clerk's office by Wednesday
From Staff Reports
Feb. 26, 2008 - Election workers are still needed by both Republicans and Democrats for Tuesday's primary election. Overall, election officials estimate about a dozen workers are needed.
The Republican Party still needs 10-11 workers to staff the polls on March 4 for the primary election. The Democratic Party also needs a few workers for the election. Workers are needed at various times throughout the day.
In order to be an election official, the worker must complete a training course and receive certification for it. While the class has already been held, workers can take a class online through Friday to gain the certification.
Anyone who is interested should contact the county clerk's office at 903-438-4074 to sign up, get workbooks and for more information.
Those interested are encouraged to call by Wednesday afternoon if possible, so that election officials will know and can have a worker plan in place by Friday.
