Grand jury issues multiple indictments in Feb. session

Feb. 18, 2008 - The February session of the Hopkins County Grand Jury concluded last week with indictments issued for a variety of charges.

Adrian Jamal Godbolt was indicted for burglary of a residence in January of 2007, while Gregory Scott Burnett, Kenneth Ray Burnett, Michael Wayne Montgomery, and Robert Ozuna were all indicted for burglary of Thomas Garage in February of 2007.

Bradley Keith Miller was indicted for theft of copper in October of 2007, while Danny Ray Daniels was indicted for theft of a conveyor bed with a cover and a conveyor bed with a drive drum support rack from Ocean Spray in January of 2007.

Monica L. Baesa was indicted for forgery in January of 2007.

Indicted for allegedly cutting another man's hand with a knife in March of 2007 was Joseph Darryl James.

Robert Presley Hopper was indicted for failure to register as a sex offender in November of 2007. Hopper is alleged to have failed to contact sheriff's officers to notify them within 7 days of an address change, as required due to an aggravated sexual assault of a child conviction.

Robert Eric Parker and Jennifer Ann Holden were both indicted for credit card abuse in November of 2007.

Denny Wayne Harroff was indicted on a charge of criminal nonsupport for not paying child support as ordered in 2002.

Walter Patrick Lanigan was indicted for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a 2003 Mercedes SL 500, in January of 2007.

Indicted for offenses involving children were:

  • Doudley Scott Maloy, indecency with a child less than 17 years old, in the fall of 2006
  • Roger Dale Eacret, driving while intoxicated with a child passenger less than 15 years old in November of 2006
  • Christopher Vernon Moore, six indictments for aggravated sexual assault of a female child less than 14 years, including a two-count indictment for aggravated sexual assault and indecency with a child, all in the summer of 2006.

Among those indicted for possession of controlled substances and marijuana were:

  • Carroll Maricle, less than 400 grams of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of Sulphur Springs Middle School, a drug-free zone, in September of 2007
  • Robert Charles Weatherall, delivery of less than one gram of cocaine to in May 2006; delivery of less than one gram cocaine in May 2006
  • Michael Eugene Beard, possession of less than one gram of cocaine in February of 2007
  • Ralph Edward Evans, possession of less than 200 grams of methamphetamine, February of 2007
  • Dameon Keith Farrier, possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine, February of 2007
  • Freddie Dejuan Johnson, possession of less than one gram of cocaine, January of 2007
  • Marc Hamilton Gilbert, possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine, January of 2007
  • Daniel Kakini Guzman, possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine, February of 2007
  • Deeric Bryan Crutchfield, possession of 5-50 pounds marijuana, January of 2007
  • Miranda Carol Farr, possession of less than one gram of cocaine, January of 2007
  • Ricardo Estrada, possession of 5-50 pounds of marijuana, February of 2007
  • Rene Medina Jr., possession of 5-50 pounds of marijuana, February of 2007
  • Eduardo Flores, possession of 5-50 pounds of marijuana, January of 2007
  • Van Howard Harrison, possession of less than one gram of cocaine, January of 2007; and delivery of less than one gram of cocaine in a drug-free zone, September of 2007,
  • Melissa Rashaun Johnson, possession of less than four grams of cocaine within 1,000 feet of Pacific Park playground, a drug-free zone, in February of 2007
  • Sedrick Daron McGhee, possession of 400 or more grams of cocaine ub January of 2007; possession less than 400 grams of methylenedioxy methamphetamine in January of 2007; and possession of 5 pounds or less of marijuana in January of 2007
  • Sherrie Yvonne Rhodes, possession of 400 grams or more of cocaine in January of 2007; possession of less than 400 grams of methylenedioxy methamphetamine in January of 2007; and possession 5 pounds or less of marijuana in January of 2007.
