Veterans Appreciation Dinner scheduled Nov. 8
From Staff Reports
Oct 26, 2007 - A special appreciation dinner is being held Nov. 8 to honor the men and women who have served our country in the armed forces.
All veterans and their spouses, and veterans’ widows and widowers are invited to the annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner, which begins at 6 p.m. Nov. 8, in First Baptist Church gym. Each veteran will receive a souvenir as a thank you from host Wal-Mart for their service to their country. A meal and evening of entertainment will be free for veterans and their spouses, widows and widowers. Door prizes will also be drawn.
Any veteran who has not in the past had their picture copied at Wal-Mart for their memorial wall is encouraged to do so by Nov. 7. Veterans can take their 5x7 picture of them in uniform, if available, to the store. It will be copied and displayed. The original will be returned to the veteran.
Also those planning to attend the Veterans Appreciation Dinner on Nov. 8 in FBC gym are asked to call 903-439-3144 by noon on Nov. 7, the day before, to make a reservation.
