Pickton man, 24, dies in crash early Saturday

Oct 22, 2007 -The 24-year-old Pickton man killed in a crash early Saturday morning was identified by Texas Department of Public Safety officials Monday as David Heath Brown.
Brown was pronounced dead at 4:50 a.m. Saturday at the crash scene by Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Ronny Glossup.
The City National Bank internal auditor was traveling west on County Road 2408 and ran his 2007 Chevrolet pickup into the north bar ditch 3.4 miles south of Pickton. He over-corrected, crossed over CR 2408 into a field. The truck rolled, ejecting Brown who was not wearing a seat belt, State Trooper Cory Hale noted on the accident report. The crash was reported at 3:40 a.m.
The caller reported a red truck had gone off the road into a pasture off CR 2408 just off SH 11 east in Cornersville. The truck crashed, and its lights were still on.
State troopers, sheriff’s deputies, Pickton-Pine Forest Volunteer firefighters and Emergency Medical Services crews were dispatched to the scene.
Brown was a 2001 graduate of Como-Pickton High School. He had earned a bachelor’s of business administration in accounting from Steven F. Austin University and was employed as an internal auditor with City National Bank at the time of his death.
Services were to be held at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Winnsboro. Arrangements were under the direction of Beaty Funeral Home.
