Oct 18, 2007 - If you’re prone to seasonal influenza and haven’t managed to get in a flu shot yet this year, you will want to mark Nov. 1-23 on your calendar.
Texas Department of State Health Services has received a shipment of the flu vaccine and will offer shots beginning Thursday, Nov. 1 and continuing the first three weeks of November.
Shots will be administered from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 1, Nov. 5-8, Nov. 12-15 and Nov. 19-22 at the state services building, 1400 College St. in Sulphur Springs.
The vaccine will only be available while supplies last, so the sooner you go to get an immunization the better the chance there will be enough on hand.
A donation of $10 per individuals or $20 per family is being requested. Pneumonia shots are also being offered on those days for a $10 donation. However, no one will be turned away due to inability to pay. There will be no charge for those on Medicare or Medicaid, provided the necessary cards or documents are presented when requesting the shot.
