Paris Junior College-Sulphur Springs Center sets continuing education classes for June

May 23, 2007 - Paris Junior College-Sulphur Springs Center will offer a variety of continuing education classes during the month of June, according to Linda Bennett, director of the higher education center.
How to Start Your Own Business is a free seminar that will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 8. Learn what it takes to start and operate a small business.
Professional Telephone Skills is a free video presentation that will be offered from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 28. Participants will learn how to handle every caller with tact, confidence and professionalism.
A Basic Keyboarding class will meet from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Thursday, June 11-28. An alternate session will run from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on the same dates. This class offers basic instruction to develop typing skills.
Truck Driver Training
First Seat offers a 200-hour course that provides students the skills and knowledge necessary to take the Commercial Drivers License (CDL) exams. Call 903-885-9800 for admission requirements, enrollment information, class dates and additional information.
Structural Pesticide Applicator Training will meet from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13. This applicator certification training (commercial, non-commercial and technician) prepares you to take the license exam. Register one week in advance. The class has a minimum enrollment requirement, however, and may be cancelled if there are not enough participants.
Pest Control in Texas Schools — Adopting IPM will be offered for IPM coordinators who have not yet taken the mandatory training. This class fulfills Texas state requirements for IPM Coordinators under section 595.11 of the Structural Pest Control Act and helps make school districts’ pest management more effective. The class meets from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20.
