May 4, 2007 - Hopkins County Military Coalition's youngest member, 24-year-old Clayton Smith with the Army National Guard, has been called to his second tour of duty in Iraq and will depart Sunday, May 6, from the parking lot of First Baptist Church, College Street, at 4 p.m.

The Patriot Guard Riders are providing Smith and his family transportation to Dallas/Fort Worth Airport by way of limousine, and the motorcycle group will escort the vehicle all the way to the airport, according to Clayton McGraw, a veteran and member of the Military Coalition.

"The Pilot Club will be on hand with flags, and we're asking others to come out and show their support," he said.

Patriotic members of the community are asked to begin gathering at 3:30 p.m. along the route that will leave from the church parking lot, proceed around the town square and down Broadway Street to the interstate.
