Community Players open 2007 theatre season with a salute to Broadway – past and present

The Sulphur Springs Community Players announce “A Tribute to Broadway - Past and Present,’ their first production of the 2007 season.

�Our audiences will enjoy singing and dancing from several award-winning musicals, including �Oklahoma,� �Hello, Dolly!� �Mary Poppins,� �Chicago,� �The Producers,� and the wildly popular �Wicked,�� said the group�s publicity director Virginia Alberts.�

Amanda Thompson serves as director for this production. 

�Amanda is one of the most talented people I�ve known,� Alberts said. �She sings, she dances, she acts, and she also directs. She relates to everybody so well. She� has great enthusiasm, too.�

�A dinner show is planned for Saturday, March 17, with Judy�s Kitchen catering the meal. The group has also scheduled a brunch at Plain and Fancy Sandwich Shoppe prior to the matinee on Sunday, March 25.

Show time is 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 15-17 and 22-24. Matinees are scheduled at 2 p.m. on Sunday March 18 and 25. Call 903-885-0107 for reservations and more information.
