Softball tourney benefiting Relay rescheduled again
From Staff ReportsJuly 13, 2007 - If your team hasn't yet signed up for the Alliance Bank Co-ed Benefit Softball Tournament, there's still time.
The benefit has been pushed back one week to Aug. 18, giving those planning to participate an extra week to register for the event. Teams have until Wedesday, Aug. 15, to enter the tourney, which will be played at Coleman Park. The cost is $100.
The tournment will be held at Coleman Park Aug. 18, with all proceeds going to the Alliance Bank Relay For Life team to benefit the American Cancer Society.
The tournament will be played using Amateur Softball Association rules. Only ASA approved bats may be used, and any 47 core ball is permitted. First and second place teams will be awarded T-shirts commemorating the event.
�The is the second time the tournament date has been reset. It was originally scheduled for the spring but had to be postponed. It was rescheduled for Aug. 11 before being delayed again.
