Police, Ranger investigating death of teen

July 8, 2007 - The Texas Ranger and police investigators are looking into the death of a 19-year-old who died following a vehicle crash early Saturday morning.
Greg Kendall Bohannon was pronounced dead by a justice of the peace, who ordered an autopsy be conducted to determine the cause of death.
The crash was reported at 12:59 a.m. Saturday to city emergency dispatchers as a vehicle crash on Church Street. When police and emergency responders arrived on Church Street, they found the vehicle had overturned and struck a tree. The driver and lone occupant was still inside the vehicle.
As the driver was pulled out of the vehicle, he was discovered to have a gunshot wound to his body. The driver was identified as Greg Kendall Bohanon. The justice of the peace was contacted and pronounced him dead a short while later. An autopsy was ordered to determine the cause of the death.
Police Investigator Rusty Stillwaggoner and Texas Ranger Phillip Kemp traveled to observed the preliminary autopsy and were still out of town late Saturday morning. The death is still under investigation by police and the Texas Ranger.
Funeral arrangements for Gregory Bohannon, 19, of Sulphur Springs are pending with Mason & Mason Funeral Home.
