Crime Stoppers offering rewards in two thefts

Jan. 3, 2007 - Crime Stoppers is offering rewards of up to $1,000 in each of two cases resulting in the theft of thousands of dollars in property.

The first case involves a Dec. 28 residential burglary on County Road 2393 near the Wood County line. The burglar or burglars pried open a window at the back of the house to gain entry, then got away with numerous items, including rings, necklaces, watches and assorted jewelry, a camera and a .22-cal. long rifle.

Total value of the stolen property was estimated at $4,800.

Investiagors are also looking into a theft on FM 69, where two off-road vehicles, similar to Kawasaki Mules, were taken. Authorities are still gathering information about the thefts and will be providing more specific details as the investigation continues.

Crime Stoppers offers rewards of up to $1,000 for tips which results in the arrest or conviction of the person or people responsible for the thefts.
