Informational meetings about TAKS testing for Douglas, middle and high school students set

Dec 28, 2007 - Sulphur Springs’ secondary and intermediate campuses will be sponsoring three Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills informational meetings for parents in the community next month.
�Called �Make the Move to Help Your Child,� the purpose of the sessions is to better inform parents regarding the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills tests and how to help their child prepare.
In addition to TAKS information, parents will also learn practical ways to help their children be successful in school.
All sessions will be conducted from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The first meeting will be Thursday, Jan. 10, at Morning Chapel Baptist Church. The second will be Monday, Jan. 14, at St. James Catholic Church, and the third will be held Tuesday, Jan. 15, at new Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church.
Pizza will be served and door prizes awarded during the sessions. Douglas Intermediate School students attending will also receive Dragon Dollars, and Sulphur Springs Middle School and High School students will receive homework passes. An interpreter and child care will also be provided at each location.
