Best In Texas: Wildcat QB Rollison named First Team All-State

Dec 20, 2007 - Sulphur Springs fans had a chance to watch the best quarterback in Class 4A this year. At least, that's the collective opinion of the state's sports editors.
SSHS junior Tyrik Rollison not only put together the best passing season in Sulphur Springs history, he also captured the votes of the Associated Press Sports Editors in their voting for the Class 4A All-State football team.
Rollison was named First Team All-State quarterback, based on regular season production. He was joined by four teammates who made Honorable Mention All-State: senior linebacker Josh Dunn, senior defensive end Tyler Francis, senior wide receiver Chris Thompson and junior safety Johnny McSheffery.
Rollison is currently ranked as the No. 2 junior The blitz will soon be on by college recruiters for Sulphur Springs Wilcat Tyrik Rollison (7), who was named First Team All-State quarterback in Class 4A by the Associated Press. Rollison is only a junior and considered by some to be one of the top prep quarterbacks in the country.
