Aug 20, 2007 - Cumby Independent School District’s superintendent was asked to leave the campus Thursday night during the regular trustees meeting, according to official personnel.
CISD school board put Bert Vandiver on administrative leave effective immediately. No reason was given as to why the board placed Vandiver on leave, only that he’s on administrative leave until further notice effective as of Thursday night’s meeting.
As of Monday, no meeting had been slated to address the matter further. When asked if anyone had been appointed to to assume Vandiver’s duties while he is on leave, staff in the administrative office said, “We dont’t have anything in place yet.”
The News-Telegram attempted to reach both board president David Barrow and Vandiver by phone, but was only able to leave messages on their machines.
