Relay cookout rescheduled

From Staff Reports

Apr. 20, 2007 - The City National Bank Hamburger Cook Out scheduled to be held today was rescheduled, Hopkins County Relay For Life Committee members said early this morning.

City National Bank and Alliance Bank decided instead to join forces to sponsor a hamburger lunch Friday, April 27. The event will be held during lunch time in the parking lot behind City National Bank. The menu includes a hamburger, chips, a drink and dessert.

A minimum donation of $5 is requested. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to Hopkins County Relay For Life

Another date to keep in mind is Saturday, April 28, the first ever Relay For Life 5K Fun Run and Walk at Coleman Park. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the run will start at 8 a.m. The cost per runner is $5.

Runners and walkers are still needed to make the event a success. A certificate and T-shirt will be given to the first finisher in the men's and women's groups.

Anyone wanting to participate can register the day of the event at the tennis courts located at Coleman Park. All money raised will benefit the Hopkins County Relay For Life, according to Relay Co-Chair Tony Aguilar.
