|Small business classes scheduled here in October|

Sept. 28, 2006 - Two small business classes will be offered in Sulphur Springs by the Paris Junior College Small Business Development Center in October. One will focus on what it takes to start and operate a succesful small business, while the other is designed to help facilitate customer service methods.
"Basics for Starting Your Own Business" will be held Thursday, Oct. 5, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at the Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce. The fee for this seminar is $25. Learn what it takes to start and operate a small business. Topics include legal requirements, writing a business plan, market research, where to find financing and how to apply, SBA guaranteed loan programs, preparing a cash flow projection, record keeping and tax requirements, and basics of managing a small business. Numerous handouts and forms are included.
"Exceptional Customer Service" will be presented Friday, Oct. 13, 8 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Sulphur Springs Higher Education Center. In this free video series, you will learn strategies that will help you create the exceptional customer service experience. Covered will be understanding customer service, the importance of looking through the customer’s eyes, dealing with challenging situations, creating winning attitudes, and building customer service stars and teams within your business.
