Church of the Nazarene offers Life Line Screenings

Nov. 26, 2006 - Church of the Nazarene and Life Line Screening are partnering to offer four screenings for risk of stroke, the third leading killer in the world and second among women.

Sulphur Springs residents can make appointments to have any combination or all of the four vascular test package, stroke/carotid artery, abdominal aortic aneurysm, ankle brachial index (known as hardening of the arteries) and osteoporosis. The cost for the first three screenings will be $109, and for the entire vascular package including osteoporosis screening is $129.

Screenings are fast, painless and offered at a reduced cost. They involved the use of ultra sound technology, and scan for potential health problems related to blocked arteries which can lead to stroke, aortic aneurysms and hardening of the arteries in the legs which are a strong predictor of heart disease. Bone density screening to assess for risk of osteoporosis will also be offered.
