|More community clean-up meetings set for next week|

July 26, 2006 -- A movement to clean up and beautify Hopkins County that began in May continues to pick up steam in Precinct 4, with two more meetings scheduled for next week.
On Monday, July 31, a 7 p.m. meeting is scheduled at Gafford Chapel Church that will include presentations by Hopkins County environmental officers Jerry Pierce and Holly Rosamond. The overall objectives of the county's clean-up will be discussed along with environmental concerns and getting communities involved in the effort.
Also to be discussed will be legal issues surrounding what constitutes illegal dumping and the penalties involved in violating the county ordinances on dumping.
On Tuesday, Aug. 1, a similar meeting will be held at Mount Zion Church beginning at 7 p.m.
Along with the county environmental officers, Pct. 4 County Commissioner Danny Evans and Hopkins County Agriculture Extension Agent Larry Spradlin will be be available to respond to questions regarding the county-wide program.
