NADO provides advocacy, education, research and training services for the nation's regional development organizations. The association serves as an advocate for federal programs and policies that promote regional strategies and solutions for addressing local community and economic development needs.

Matthew Chase,  NADO executive director, said Millsap, who is also a representative of the Ark-Tex Council of Governments, will represent members in the Southwest region of NADO for the 2006-2007 term.

"We are very pleased to have Cletis Millsap on the board of NADO," Chase said. "Judge Millsap brings tremendous experience to the association and a true passion for helping promote regional approaches and solutions to local community and economic development initiatives. During these competitive economic times, it is essential that we have regional and local leaders like Judge Millsap to serve at the national level."
