Two dozen actors needed for 'Twelfth Night' at Mineola’s Lake Country Playhouse
From Staff Reports

July 21, 2006 -- The Lake Country Playhouse is seeking seven actresses and 17 actors to stage William Shakespeare’s "Twelfth Night" in late September.

Auditions for roles in this comedy, considered one of the Barb’s best, will be at 7 p.m. Monday, July 31, and Tuesday, Aug. 1 at the Select Theater, 114 North Johnson St. in downtown Mineola.

Directing will be Christopher Collins, drama teacher at Emory. Collins is adapting the comedy for time and to help contemporary audiences relate to the story and humor.

This will be the first time in  its almost 30-year history that the Lake Country Playhouse has produced a play written by Shakespeare.

Collins said that the production will also need technical and backstage volunteers.

Performance dates will be Fridays through Sundays, Sept. 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, and Oct. 1.

For information, call the Lake Country Playhouse at 903-569-2300.
