First Assembly of God church welcomes new pastor, family

Dec. 1, 2006 - Members of First Assembly of God, 434 Jefferson St., welcome a new senior pastor and his family to their church and the community.

Mark and CarolAnn Gamber, married 24 years, come to Sulphur Springs from Bushnell, Ill. , along with their two children, Kayde and Bradyn.

Rev. Gamber was senior pastor of the First Assembly of God in Bushnell from 2005 to the present. Prior to his position as senior pastor, he was a high school teacher at Abundant Life Christian School in Houston.

He received his bachelor of arts degree in Biblical studies at Central Bible College, and was ordained in Oklahoma in 1985 at District Council. He first served as a youth and associate pastor for five years. The following 18 years he served as a senior pastor in four churches experiencing attendance growth, retirement of church debt and various development projects.
