After another county clean-up meeting, message is clear: All need to be involved
By LARRY SPRADLIN | Hopkins County Extension Agent/Agriculture

Aug. 27, 2006 -- I would like to thank the nice citizens of Reilly Springs for hosting another Hopkins County Beautification Program Thursday evening, especially hosts Kenny and Sandi Wallace.

We had another good turnout of people interested in helping "Hopkins County Clean." It is really nice to see our County Judge, Mr. Cletis Millsap, and our county commissioners Burke Bullock and Beth Wisenbaker participate in this program, along with the other county commissioners, in these efforts to help us learn how we can help them.

And, of course, thanks go to Jerry Pierce and Holly Rosamond, our county environmental officers, for the wonderful work that they are doing all over the county.

One thing that I feel is very important, and an issue that Jerry kept talking about, is that our county's beautification starts with each one of us, and that they are here to assist us. You know that these programs started several months ago at the home of Charles and Wyvonne McDaniel in the northern portion of the county, and it is really great to see how much our communities are getting involved.

Thanks again to Reilly Springs, and we will look forward to putting this program on at other communities in the county.
