Community clean-up meeting set Thursday in Reilly Springs

Aug. 22, 2006 -- A movement to clean up and beautify Hopkins County that began in May is moving to Precinct 1 with a meeting Thursday in Reilly Springs Community Center at 7 p.m.

Guest speakers will be Hopkins County environmental officers Jerry Pierce and Holly Rosamond, who will present the overall objectives of the county's clean up program along with environmental concerns and the importance of getting communities involved in the effort.

Also to be discussed will be legal issues surrounding what constitutes illegal dumping and the penalties involved in violating county laws.

Along with the county environmental officers, Precinct 1 County Commissioner Beth Wisenbaker and Hopkins County Agriculture Extension Agent Larry Spradlin will be be available to respond to questions regarding the county-wide program.

The Reilly Springs meeting will be hosted by Carey Bailey and Kenny and Sandi Wallace.
