Aug. 11, 2006 -- The Sulphur Springs Higher Education Center will swing open its doors Thursday morning for the start of on-campus registration for the fall semester.
Students can register from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Center, located at 1202 West Houston St., between Sulphur Springs High School and the Civic Center. Advisors and counselors will be on hand to answer questions about financial aid and scholarships, testing, and to help students select classes.
“We will have everyone here on duty, including the bookstore, to serve the students,” said Linda Bennett, director of SSHEC. “We encourage everyone who hasn’t already registered online to come in and register on Thursday.”
A number of new courses of study have been added to the curriculum this year, Bennett said. Among those choices are teacher education, medical coding, criminal justice and agriculture production.
Bennett also reminded students who have registered online and have not paid tuition that they should come to the campus and make payment on that day.
Registration at the campus will continue through Aug. 24, but many of the advisors and counselors will not be on hand to help after the initial registration on Thursday.
Fall classes will begin on Aug. 28. Students will be able to register late on Aug. 28 and 29. To learn more about admission and registration, call the higher education center at 903-885-1232, or go to the Paris Junior College website at www.parisjc.edu.
