Grand jury returns more than 60 indictments

April 12, 2006 A Hopkins County grand jury, in session Tuesday, returned more than 60 felony indictments on offenses ranging from terroristic threat involving a bomb threat at a Sulphur Springs nursing home to burglary and a large number of drug-related offenses.

Jeremy Lee Scott and Carl Anthony Beblowski were each named in two felony indictments alleging terroristic threats as a result of a number of telephone calls made to Sunny Springs Nursing Home on Jan. 14, and a second threat on Jan. 27.

As a result of the threats, the elderly residents of the nursing home were moved out into the winter temperatures until their residence could be cleared.

Jeremy Lee Scott was arrested on the charges in February, and Beblowski was arrested by Fort Worth police on Sunday, April 9.

Other indictments returned Tuesday include:

The grand jury also returned seven indictments for charges including burglary, unauthorized use of motor vehicle, delivery of controlled substance and theft. The names of those named in these indictments are being withheld pending arrest.

When someone is indicted by a grand jury, they are merely charged with a crime. It should not be considered as evidence of either guilt or innocence.
