Chase lands man in jail on multiple charges

July 18, 2005 - Sheriff's deputies arrested a 29-year-old Winsboro man over the weekend after being called to investigate a suspicious vehicle. When the first officer arrived, he spotted a pickup driving very slowly. As the deputy drove up, the pickup sped up, driving through a gate with the driver yelling at the officer telling him he could not get him because he was on private property.

The deputy followed through the gate, closing the gate after driving through, the chase was on. After spinning around several times the fleeing pickup sped down a road and crashed into a ditch. The driver ran on foot but was soon captured.

The man now faces a shopping list of charges including possession of marijuana, possession of controlled substance, evading arrest, unlawful carrying of a weapon, possession of hydrocodone, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
