July 5, 2005 -- Officials with Sulphur Springs Independent School District will soon be given the task of finding individuals to fill two of the top spots at Sulphur Springs High School -- the principal and vice principal.

Joe Oliver is expected to step down as prinicipal at SSHS on Monday, July 18, when he is slated to sign a contract with Clarksville Independent School District for the superintendent's post.

Oliver, who has served as principal at SSHS for the past five years and as coach and vice principal the two years before that, notified school officials last week of being named the finalist for the CISD superintendent's job. CISD, according to state guidelines, cannot officially offer a contract for the top post for 21 days after the finalist is named.

The school district is already searching for a replacement for SSHS Vice Principal Glenn Wilson, who was named to serve as principal at Sulphur Springs Middle School in June. Wilson replaces Kevin Woolley, who submitted his resignation in order to accept a superintendent position at Oakwood Independent School District, which he officially assumed on June 13.
