|GSC Enterprises golf tourney raises $65,000 for six local area agencies|

Sept. 24, 2004 -- Six Hopkins County area agencies and foundations were named as recipients of the proceeds from GSC Enterprises, Inc. 16th Annual Benefit Tournament, sharing in a generous $65,000 donation.
Golfers from as far away as Chicago, California, Connecticut, Atlanta, and Florida were among the 152 players in the annual benefit tournament held at The Tribute in The Colony Wednesday, September 22, 2004.
Following tournament play, Mickey McKenzie, chairman and CEO of GSC Enterprises, Inc. presented the donations to representatives of the selected agencies: Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas - $15,000; North East Texas Child Advocacy Center - $10,000; CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocacy) - $10,000; Hopkins County Community Chest - $10,000; GSC Scholarship - $10,000; Boys & Girls Club of Sulphur Springs - $10,000.
Larry Kerns, president and COO of GSC Enterprises, Inc., recognized each agency for the outstanding work they do for the community during the presentation.
Five local sponsors including Alliance; Best Western Trail Dust Inn; KSST/Channel 18; JB Weld; and McLeroy, Litzler, Rutherford, Bauer & Friday, P.C., joined 126 regional and national sponsors in supporting GSC's effort that resulted in the donations.
"We at GSC remain committed to doing all we can to help the children of our community of Sulphur Springs, Hopkins County and North East Texas," said tournament chairman Steve Shing, GSC corporate vice president-marketing and trade relations. "It is all about children our legacy, our future. Our home is this community we love and our family is all the people in it."
GSC's has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to charity since the first benefit golf tournament was held in the San Antonio in 1988. GSC moved the tournament to the Dallas-Fort Worth area three years ago to increase the overall participation and to direct the proceeds to the local agencies and foundations in the Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County area. GSC has donated a total of $175,000 to Hopkins County's local agencies as a result of tournament the last three years.
