Grand jury returns 38 felony indictments in April session

May 4, 2004 -- In its April session, a Hopkins County grand jury returned 38 felony indictments against 33 indivuduals. Drug charges, including possesion of marijuana and other controlled substances and intent to manufacture drugs, accounted for 23 of the indictments.

Those indicted include:

  • Robert Douglas Redleaf -- Possession of marijuana
  • Armando Ortega Gutierrez -- Driving while intoxicated
  • Scott Ralph Land -- Possession of a controlled substance
  • Israel Lopez -- Possession of a controlled substance
  • Juana Lopez -- Possession of a controlled substance
  • Lawhayland Deshaun Woodard -- Burglary of building
  • Melissa Paige Wooldgridge -- Possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver
  • Melissa Paige Wooldgridge -- Poss or transport certain chemicals with intent to manufacture
  • Levi Shane Bishop -- Possession of marijuana
  • Tamara Lynn Miller -- Possession of marijuana
  • Leonard Lee Tramel -- Possession of marijuana
  • Gralon Kent Ivery -- Delivery of a controlled substance
  • Michael Glenn Mays -- Possession or transport of certain chemicals with intent to manufacture
  • Marion A. Sims, also known as Eric Damon Shaw -- Possession of a controlled substance
  • Susan Ramero Gonzales -- Possession of a controlled substance
  • Leslie Dawn Fryar -- Possession of a controlled substance
  • Joseph Wayne Cain Jr. -- Possession of a controlled substance
  • Sean Christopher Biery -- Possession of marijuana
  • Virgil Bruce Keys Jr. -- Unlawful possession of a firearm by felon
  • Virgil Bruce Keys Jr. -- Posssession of a prohibited weapon
  • Virgil Bruce Keys Jr. -- Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
  • Lozie D. Boddie Jr. -- Possession of a controlled substance

  • Jerry Dale Hammond -- Driving while intoxicated
  • Joey Layne Ellis -- Possession of a controlled substance
  • Rigoberto Ibarra Armendariz -- Driving while intoxicated with child passenger under the age of 15
  • Aaron Damon Prince -- Failure to stop and render aid
  • John Lewis Speight -- Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon

It is important to note that when someone is arrested or indicted by a grand jury, they are merely charged with a crime. It should not be considered as evidence of either guilt or innocence.
