Miller Grove ISD superintendent leaves after 19 years on the job

Feb. 6, 2004 -- Friday, Jan. 30, was Dr. Tommy Turner's last day as superintendent for Miller Grove Independent School District.

After 19 years of service to the Miller Grove school district, Turner turned in his resignation on Friday, Jan. 23, to accept a new position with Region VII Educational Service Center in Mount Pleasant, which serves Hopkins County.

A reception was held in Turner's honor on Sunday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. in the Miller Grove High School library.

Region VIII Education Service Center provides training, support and assistance to more than 50,000 students and educators in 11 counties in Northeast Texas, including Bowie, Cass, Camp, Delta, Franklin, Hopkins, Lamar, Morris, Marion, Red River and Titus counties.
