Lowe's ready to open doors on February 13

Feb. 6, 2004 -- Lowe's will open the doors of the company's newest store on Friday, Feb. 13, and the store will host grand opening ceremonies on Wednesday, Feb. 18.

The Lowe's superstore contains 94,000 square feet of retail sales space along with an adjacent garden center. The new store will be stocking 32,000 different items to help customers build, improve and beautify their homes.

The Sulphur Springs store represents an investment of more than $12.5 million for the company and will mean as many as 120 new jobs, a large majority of which have come from within the local community.

Lowe's reported sales of $26.5 billion in 2002 through more than 925 home improvement centers at a rate of approximately nine million customers a week.

Lowe's, a Fortune 100 company, is the world's second largest home improvement retailer.
