Grand jury indicts 22

Feb. 13, 2004 -- A Hopkins County Grand Jury, meeting in its January session, handed up 23 felony indictments against 22 people. The offenses ranged from securing execution of a document by deception to injury to a child and burglary. A number of drug-related indictments were also returned by the grand jury.

Those indicted include:

  • Detwonne Monshaye Alexander - Unlawful possession of firearm by felon
  • Osmin Amaya Jr.- Possession of controlled substance
  • Fredric Laurence Atkinson - Burglary of habitation
  • Luther Earl Freeman - Burglary of habitation
  • Brandon Ashley Bain - Possession of controlled substance
  • Kerry Joe Bell - Possession of controlled substance
  • Ronald Lee Braneff - Forgery
  • Melinda Brown Brewer - Possession of controlled substance
  • William Warren Bryant - Evading arrest
  • Joshua Louis Holloway - Evading arrest
  • Johnny Blake Weir - Evading arrest
  • Matthew Bryan Burton - Evading arrest
  • Amado Perez Castro - Injury to a Child
  • Ronny Lynn Moss - Possession of controlled substance
  • Charles Robert Clark Jr.- Possession of controlled substance
  • Charles Robert Clark Jr. - Prohibited Weapon
  • Juan Octavio Chapa - Possession of marijuana
  • Joe Angel Quevedo - Possession of marijuana
  • Jeremy Robert Cochran - Theft
  • Dustin Kyle Coker - Theft
  • Luke Thomas Derr - Possession of controlled substance
  • Timothy Lee Gardner - Unlawful possession of firearm by felon
  • Debracca Joane Cork - Securing execution of documents by deception

It is important to note that when someone is indicted by a grand jury, they are merely charged with a crime. It should not be considered as evidence of either guilt or innocence.
