Aug. 3, 2004 -- At the conclusion of next week, the halls at Sulphur Springs High School and Sulphur Springs Middle School will be bustling with activity as students pick up their class schedules for the 2004-2005 school year.

Two days have been allocated at the middle school for schedule pickups, with specific times designated for each grade level. Eighth grade students will pickup their schedules from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12. The following day, seventh graders may obtain their schedules between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., with sixth graders slated to get their schedules from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13.

All middle school schedules will be handed out in the cafeteria. Parents or guardians are asked to accompany each student.

At Sulphur Springs High School, each student is asked to bring a completed "Age, Grade, Residence" form when picking up their own schedule from the cafeteria area Friday, Aug. 13. Students will be required to have the completed AGR form in order to get their schedules, which will be available for all students Friday, Aug. 13, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Also, students' immunization records and records from previous years must be cleared in order to get their schedules.

Any student finding a scheduling problem that requires a change will be asked to sign a list in the cafeteria during schedule pick-up so that counselors will know about and can quickly begin working with the students to make necessary changes.

Freshman tours will also be offered by Student Council members from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13, at the high school. The tours will be conducted this year in place of freshman orientation.
