Cowboys host wounded soldiers at practice

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — One by one, the Dallas Cowboys stopped to recognize their fans.

About 20 wounded soldiers from the Warrior Family Support Center at nearby Fort Sam Houston visited practice Thursday.

Most visitors wore Cowboys jerseys or hats, with some exceptions. One man wore an Arkansas Razorbacks jersey, drawing a hug from owner Jerry Jones, an Arkansas alum.

Another fan, however, wore a San Diego Chargers jersey.

Jones says he joked that if the man wanted a picture of Jones' Super Bowl ring he would have to lose the jersey.

So he did — posing in a white T-shirt with Jones.

"It is one of the most rewarding things to see them enjoy and have that little respite, to have a moment to come out here and watch practice and be appreciated," Jones says.
