MARTINEZ, Calif. (AP) — A 23-year-old San Ramon man has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges after being accused of driving drunk and causing several hit-and-run collisions in Danville that injured four people.

Cainan Schierholtz (SHEER'-holtz) is charged with three felony counts of hit-and-run causing injury and one count of drunken driving causing injury. He also faces a misdemeanor hit-and-run charge.

Prosecutors say Schierholtz was driving his pickup through a one-mile stretch of Danville on Aug. 1 when his truck struck a pedestrian, a bicyclist, two vehicles and a light pole. The injuries were not serious.

Another motorist and crash witnesses then stopped the driver.

Schierholtz, the brother of 26-year-old San Francisco Giants outfielder Nate Schierholtz, is due back in court next month.
