TYLER — The John Tyler Lions scored four second-half touchdowns to take a 40-32 come-from-behind win over Sulphur Springs in 7-on-7 action.
The loss, the only one in the tournament for the Wildcats, knocked them out of a possible berth in the semifinals as John Tyler advanced with a 3-0 record. The Wildcats will not be making a return trip to the state 7-on-7 finals in College Station this year.
"We should have won, we had chances, but we didn't," said Sulphur Springs offensive coordinator Jeff Riordan.
Students in the Sulphur Springs Edge fitness camps went throught workouts Tuesday at the high school practice fields. The camp continues through July 16.
COLLEGE STATION — Graham Northcutt loves running so much, he decided to spend part of his summer on the track.
While at Sulphur Springs he lettered four years and three times was the MVP of the cross country team and twice in track. He was a state runner-up in 2007 at the state meet in the 1,600-meter. Twice during his senior year he claimed district titles, winning both the 1,600 and 3,200-meter races.
