New district alignments released for 2012-14

The Sulphur Springs Wildcats will keep a few common foes and pick up some new ones in a reconfigured District 14-3A for the 2012-14 school years.
Sulphur Springs, Mount Pleasant and Texas High, all holdovers from the current 13-4A, will join Longview-area teams Pine Tree, Marshall and Hallsville in the new 14-3A, starting in the fall.

Lady Cats notch big district win

GREENVILLE — After a slow first half, the Lady Cats rallied to take a 56-25 win over the Lady Lions in District 13-4A action here Tuesday.

The game gives the Lady Cats a 20-10 overall record, 5-6 in district with one game left.


Greenville scores 72-47 win over Wilcats

Greenville scored early and often, taking a 72-47 win over Sulphur Springs in boys District 13-4A basketball action Tuesday night.
The Lions were pumping in points all over the court, with 12 players getting in the scorebook against Sulphur Springs.

NH boys win JH basketball title

The North Hopkins Junior High Boys A team won the district championship tournament with a 36-29 win over Cumby Saturday at Saltillo after defeating Yantis in the semi-final round earlier that morning.
