It was perfection.
Not just by one person, but two Sulphur Springs pitchers, Kaci Kennedy and Taylor Clifton, combined for a 10-0 win over Longview and a perfect game.
Goose eggs on the scoring sheet never looked so pretty as the Lady Cats gave up nothing to the visitors Friday night. It was 18 up and 18 down.
Perfection means the Lady Lobos did not touch the basepaths. They did not reach by a hit, run, error or walk Friday.
Kennedy pitched the first three innings, facing nine batters and striking out five. Clifton pitched three innings of relief in the 10-run rule. She faced nine batters and struck out three.
“It was a great pitching performance for us,” said Sulphur Springs head baseball coach David Carrillo. “I think we were more relaxed in this game and we played well. You can’t say much more than perfection.”
