Wildcat hoop camp opens Tuesday

     Clark Cipoletta, Sulphur Springs head boys varsity basketball coach, is always ready to instruct the finer points of the game.
    Cipoletta’s Wildcats last season set a school record with 26 wins, falling in the area round of the playoffs.
    The coach is ready to get back on the floor and is eager for Wildcat basketball camp which will be held Tuesday through Thursday at the high school gym.

Cumby picked 3rd by preseason magazine

    After posting a 9-3 record and the first-ever playoff win in school history, Cumby wants to keep breaking records and turning heads.
    The Trojans are picked third in the District 9-2A DII race behind favorite Maud and Dallas Gateway Charter.

C-P Eagles picked last, but eye playoffs

    Dave Campbell’s Texas Football’s preseason pick of last place for Como-Pickton did not throw cold water on head coach Charles Swann.
Swann in fact was expecting such a rating after the Eagles went 0-10 last year.

Tennis tournament here Saturday

    The Sulphur Springs Summer Slam Tennis Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, July 8 at the SSHS complex. The fee is $12 per entry.
    Coach Tony Martinez said check in is by 8:10 a.m. and play will begin at 8:30 a.m.
